In an emotional revelation, Victoria Beckham has shared her personal struggles following allegations of her husband David Beckham’s affair with his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos. In a Netflix documentary series titled “Beckham” that premiered today, the fashion designer and former Spice Girl described the aftermath of the scandal as the darkest period of her marriage to the ex-footballer.

Victoria revealed that it was during this time that she felt the most unhappy in her life. The allegations, which surfaced in 2003 when David was playing for Real Madrid, strained their relationship leading to a tumultuous period in their marriage. Despite always denying these claims, Victoria admitted that she did resent her husband for the situation they found themselves in.

The documentary explores how the allegations affected their relationship and family dynamics. Victoria candidly shared, “It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us”. She further added, “We were against each other if I’m being completely honest.” This was a stark contrast to how they had previously felt like a united front even when faced with adversity.

David Beckham also addressed these allegations during the series. He confessed that dealing with such negative stories about their marriage was challenging. It marked the first time their relationship faced such immense pressure.

When asked how they managed to weather this storm, an emotional David admitted that he wasn’t sure. He expressed his deep love for Victoria and his commitment to fighting for their family. However, he also acknowledged how hard it was for him to maintain a normal facade at work while dealing with these personal issues.

The couple’s oldest son Brooklyn, who is now 24 years old, was also affected by this ordeal. David voiced his concerns about how this might have impacted his son.

Despite these trials, the Beckhams presented a united front at the documentary’s premiere in central London this week. They were joined by their four children – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper – along with Romeo’s girlfriend Mia Regan and Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz.
